APPROVAL FOR FOREIGN VETERINARIANS IN GERMANY

Dear veterinarians,
if you have completed a degree in veterinary medicine abroad and are now seeking your licence to practise in Germany, you have come to the right place.
For your licence to practise veterinary medicine in Germany, foreign applicants from an EU country must provide proof of veterinary specialist language skills at level C1 (CEFR) in addition to a B2 certificate.
In Baden-Württemberg, you must take a specialised language test at the State Chamber of Veterinarians. Further information can be found on the website of the Baden-Württemberg State Chamber of Veterinarians https://www.ltk-bw.de/tieraerzte-innen/fachsprachenpruefung.html and in the specialist language examination regulations: https://www.ltk-bw.de/files/content/02_Kammer/02-03_Rechtsgrundlagen/FachsprachenprüfungsO , 2020, TEXT according to AE 1, version 22.10.2020, valid from 1.1.2021, hp.pdf
This examination lasts at least 60 minutes in total and consists of the following three parts:
1. Simulated veterinarian-animal owner interview (20 minutes)
2. Written documentation (20 minutes)
3. Colleague interview (20 minutes)
The answers are assessed with regard to the technical language aspects.
With us, you will receive qualified preparation and ongoing counselling until your exam as well as excellent, practical preparation for your everyday work as a vet.
You too can benefit from our many years of experience in medical language courses.
All the learning material we use in our courses is free of charge for course participants.
Licence applicants from a non-EU country (third country) must provide proof of equivalent training (level of knowledge) and pass a knowledge test. The scope of this knowledge test is decided on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the country of origin and the scope of training, up to 15 examinations must be taken.
As part of the "Integration through Qualification (IQ)" funding programme, funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the European Social Fund, the "support4Vetmed" project group was established at the Free University of Berlin.
We are pleased about the cooperation and would like to draw the attention of applicants from non-EU countries to the free e-learning courses offered by support4vetmed for the knowledge test.
You can find more information on this and on your licence to practise on the support4vetmed website; https://www.support4vetmed.de/
